Line and Paragraph Spacing

Do not use the Enter Key to create spacing between lines and paragraphs. Instead, the spacing should be created by using the Styles Menu or customize your own settings. If you see this symbol “ ” creating space between sentences or paragraphs, you’ve made a mistake in formatting your book, using the ePub Template. To correct the formatting:

  1. First, eliminate all paragraph markers “” between sentences and paragraphs.
  2. Highlight the text you want to change.
  3. There are two techniques if you want to correctly change the spacing:
  4. In the Home tab in the Styles Sub-section Drop down Styles Menu and use the custom defaults of e-indents or e-no-indents which is 10pts between paragraphs. OR
  5. On the Ribbon, go to the Page Layout tab, and then in the Paragraph Sub- Section change the Before or After spacing to your needs.
